Prayer To Our Lady of Lourdes

Lady of Light, Lady of Lourdes,

Lady conceived without stain of sin, obtain pardon for us sinners and light for those in darkness. Bring those who thirst for God to drink of His life-giving Love. O Mary, intercede for your children, especially those we commend to your prayers and assist those who seek your maternal aid. Amen.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

REMINDER

We will be having a Pastoral Council Meeting on Monday evening at 7:30pm in the Rectory, in lieu of a Cluster Planning Meeting.

God's Choice

The Trinity chooses us because God loves us even more than we love each other. Peter and the rest left it to God to choose Matthias to replace Judas. Like Joseph and Matthias, we have known about Christ Jesus from "the time John was baptizing until the day he was taken up from us." We have become witnesses to the resurrection. This is what we read this year. We know all this and are ready to share the Spirit that breathes life. Then God will choose each of us according to the divine plan. Although Joseph wasn't chosen to join the Twelve, he got a different call.

1997 Catholic Charities Appeal

The April 24th issue of The Catholic Standard and Times was sent to every registered household in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. This issue describes a variety of human service programs that are supported through your gifts to the Catholic Charities Appeal. Among those who receive assistance are children in crisis, the hungry and homeless, senior citizens and retired clergy. Please take time to read it.

The 40th Annual Catholic Charities Appeal will take place May 4th - 18th. Please make a gift to support the human service programs within the five county region of the Archdiocese. St. Paul writes: "People must think of us as Christ's servants, stewards entrusted with the mysteries of God. What is expected of stewards is that each one should be found worthy of his trust." (1 Cor 4:1-3).

If you have not already contributed, please place your donation envelopes in the Catholic Charities Appeal box located in the back of the church. Thank you in advance for your support of this worthy cause.

A Family Perspective

Today we celebrate Mother's Day because mothers have made the prayer of Jesus in today's Gospel their personal prayer and life's goal. "Father, I have made your name known to those who gave me...and they believed...As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them...Holy Father, protect them so that they may be one."

That Cheating Soul

I was thrown out of college for cheating on the metaphysics exam. I looked into the soul of the boy next to me.
