Join In Singing

20th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Among the most the vital of our responsibilities as a community of faith, is sharing in worship with one another. Our Sunday celebration, the Mass, is best celebrated when we all participate. All hymns are located in the misalette.

Gathering: 33 Alleluia! Sing to Jesus (p147)
Offertory: 29 Gift of Finest Wheat (p146)
Communion: 25 Faith of Our Fathers (p144)
Meditation: 47 Immaculate Mary (p152)
Recessional: 37 Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee (p149)

Parochial Administrator Appointed

This past week, our Cardinal-Archbishop appointed Father John Oulds Parochial Administrator for St. Joseph's Church. While continuing as Pastor of neighboring St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Father John officially assumes pastoral responsibility for our parish family. Both parishes remain separate and distinct, served by the ministry of one priest. This arrangement then is not a merger of the two Churches. It is hoped, however, that the same fine spirit of cooperation, understanding and patience, so evident during recent months, will prevail as questions are resolved and a way of management is established for our two faith communities. It is a challenging time, yet filled with new possibilities, added strength and undiminished vitality. Pray, please, that God gives us all His grace and love to rise to the many opportunities of growth He provides.

A Family Perspective

In today's Gospel Jesus teaches us that only by consuming his flesh and blood will we live. Parents are called to a similar sacrifice. If you feel that your children are consuming your every minute, realize that this is the sacred vocation of parents---to give our lives to our children so that they may live. Parenting is not part-time, it's a total commitment.

Bible Study

As a result of the Cluster Planning Meetings, it was decided to begin, (in the Fall of this Year), a Bilingual Bible Study. Any member of our Cluster Parishes who would be interested in this study, please contact Fr. Lewis at (610)384-0422.
