Among the most the vital of our responsibilities as a community of faith, is sharing in worship with one another. Our Sunday celebration, the Mass, is best celebrated when we all participate. All hymns are located in the misalette.

In the Family Of Jesus

Dove and Serpent, naive and wise-simplicity and wholeness are childlike virtues. Young people like to give names, discover reality and experience all things new. We can be childlike and ask why two become one of us --and calls us family in the Church. The answer is deep but simple: God loves us. How can we not say, "Yes!" and "Me, too, please!"

Celebrate '97 is a very special Archdiocesan Faith Rally, indicative of our Nine Year Program of Renewal, to be held in the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul on Sunday, October 19th at 3:00pm. It is an occasion for all the parishes to gather together in praise and worship. Transportation will be provided for a delegation from our parish to attend. To enjoy a delightful autumn outing and join our Cathedral-bound party, kindly contact Andrea Levenite this week. Thank you for giving us representation at Celebrate 97' and note that our bus for the event will leave at 1:15pm from the Church corner.

The Comboni Missionary Sisters this month begin their third year of ministry to the poor, the elderly and the Hispanic community in Coatesville. They are seeking to form a support group of volunteers who would be willing to aid in their many good works. To organize this effort, a meeting will be held at St. Cecilia Church at 6:30pm on Monday, October 6th. All are welcome to attend. Emmaus Nights - A Discernment Series - sponsored by the Vocation Office for Diocesan Priesthood. Bi-monthly sessions, on the second and fourth Wednesday 7:30-9:30pm, continue on Wednesday, October 8th, 1997 at St. Charles Seminary for those men who are seriously discerning the call to priesthood. The evening will include communal prayer, topics of interest, group discussion and refreshments. No registration is needed. Call the Vocation Office for details (610)667-5778.

Youthfest '97 - On October 25, 1,000 high school teens will celebrate being young and Catholic. This day includes a concert, dance, dinner, tshirt, carnival games and surprises. All this can be yours for only $10! Join the party at Archbishop Ryan for a day to remember. Family Perspective

When the Pharisees in today's Gospel asked Jesus a question about marriage, they began by asking; "Is it lawful...?" This is the wrong question. Family relationships are not about what you have "got-to-do"! Family is about what you "want-to-do" out of love. They were trying to squeeze by on the minimum. In families we are called to do and be more!

Making the Most of Pre-Jordan

An evening of idea-sharing for presenters of parish Baptism preparation, will be held on October 8th, from 7:30-9:30pm.

Faith: Familystyle

Is a faith-filled, fun-filled program for the whole family. Training for parish/cluster leaders will be held on October 11th.

Refoccus

Training for leaders of this parish/cluster-based marriage enrichment program will be offered on October 22nd from 7:30-9:30pm.

Natural Family Planning

Classes are held regularly at the Family Life Office on the campus of St. Charles Seminary, Wynnewood.

Phases

A nine week program dealing with issues of separation and divorce will begin on November 11th at SS Simon and Jude Parish, West Chester.

Separated, Divorced, Widowed

Support group meets monthly at 7:30pm in the school meeting room of St. Joseph, Downingtown.
