AnnouncementsBlock Collection - During the month of October we will have our annual, traditional Block Collection to help defray our various and numerous church assessments. Your envelope can be used anytime during the month of October. Please be as generous as you have been in the past. Thank you. Next Weekend, the universal Church will celebrate World Mission Sunday, focusing our attention on Jesus' mandate to "proclaim the Gospel to every nation that all may have life." We will especially herald the missionary endeavors of the Church and the zealous, generous missionaries themselves at home and abroad. Today, a representative of the Comboni Missionary Sisters will speak firsthand of the Mission experience and solicit the support of our prayers and financial contributions. Please help to sustain the work of announcing the Lord's Good News to tribes and lands who have yet to hear it. Next weekend's Second Collection will directly benefit the World Mission Sunday Appeal; please respond as your means allow. God love you! Our society is called a consumer society, but who is being consumed? Today's Gospel is warning us not to be locked into chasing bigger and better "stuff" and neglect the relationships in our lives.
