Congratulations to Kathy Shesko & Christopher Castle who were married last Saturday in our Parish Church. May God's blessing be theirs now and always!

Saturday of this week, November 1st, we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints. It is a feast which offers the beautiful image of a harvest homecoming when all the People of God will be gathered into that New Jerusalem (heaven) to experience the Supper of the Lamb (the victory of Jesus over sin and death). Usually a holy day of obligation, this year the Solemnity of All Saints does not have the force of obligation because it falls on a Saturday. It is hoped, however, that many will freely wish to participate at Mass in observance of this cherished feast.

November 2nd brings the venerable custom of remembering our beloved departed in a special way through the Masses commemorating All Souls Day. We welcome you to submit the names of deceased family members, neighbors and friends written on the All Souls Day envelope provided in the envelope box. The envelope may be placed in the collection basket. All name-bearing envelopes will rest on the altar throughout November, the month dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. With love and faith, we remember them. May they rest in peace.

Neighboring St. Stanislaus Kostka Church will observe the Solemn Eucharistic Forty Hours Devotion on November 2nd,3rd,4th with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament all throughout the day. Each evening a service will be conducted at 7 o'clock, with Father Gasper Genuardi as guest homilist. All are welcome to attend.

Parishioners have reported the difficulty they have at times in hearing clearly the priest or lector at Mass. Please be assured that we are aware of the problem and are presently engaged with a sound system firm in exploring a solution. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Altar Servers

Any boy or girl wishing to become an altar server please sign up in the back of the church, or contact Mr. Vince Krupansky. You must be in fourth grade or older. Thank you. Lessons will begin in November.

Halloween Party

Our Annual Parish Halloween Party will be held this Sunday, October 26th. This party is for all the children of the parish. It will be held in the school hall from 1-3pm. Please come and join in the fun. Parents are encouraged to stay with their children and make this a family event (Grandparents are welcome too!) There will be games, food, and costume judging. Each child should bring one bag of candy (individually wrapped candy bars, lollypops, etc) for the candy scramble. Adults, please consider staying a few minutes after the party to help with clean up. See you there!

90th Anniversary

As a special 90th Anniversary event, St. Stanislaus Kostka Church will host the appearance of Grace Markay in Concert on Sunday, November 9th, at 3:00pm. Ms. Markay is a songwriter and recording artist of Contemporary Religious Music, who leads her audience through a spiritual journey in song and reflection. A reception over light refreshments will follow. All are cordially invited.

Godspell Musical

Bishop Shananhan High School, West Chester, will present their Fall Broadway Musical, Godspell, on November 1st, 7th, 8th at 8:00pm and on November 2nd at 7:00pm. It is a production with 150-plus cast and crew members which promises to uphold the school's tradition of excellence. Reserved seats are $6.00, general admission $5.00. For additional information, kindly call (610)696-7604, ext 242.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Collection

This year our CCD is participating in a food drive sponsored by the Archdiocese Office for Nutritional Services. During the month of October, students in parish CCD programs are asked to bring in a jar of peanut butter or jelly. These items will then be used to stock food cupboards. A note was sent home with the CCD students last week asking them to bring in their donations this Sunday. If you were unable to send the peanut butter or jelly in with your child this week, we will be accepting donations at the Halloween Party and also at CCD next Sunday. Thank you for your generosity.

Parish Life Congress

The Parish Life Congress is an annual educational/formational gathering of laity and religious, priests and deacons, who are involved in various forms of pastoral and educational service to the Church. The Congress is an integral part of the spiritual and pastoral Renewal of the Archdiocese in anticipation of the third millennium of Christianity. This year's Congress will be held on Saturday, November 15th at Archbishop Carroll High School in Radnor. Please call Frank Lasak Jr. if you are interested in attending this event.
