Join In Singing

All Souls

Among the most the vital of our responsibilities as a community of faith, is sharing in worship with one another. Our Sunday celebration, the Mass, is best celebrated when we all participate. All hymns are located in the misalette.

Gathering: 20 Here I Am, Lord (p139)
Offertory: 38 At That First Eucharist (p146)
Communion: 32 Gift of Finest Wheat (p144)
Recessional: 61 How Great Thou Art (p152)

A Family Perspective

"Loving our neighbors as ourselves" means we must value and respect ourselves first, if we expect others to do so. This way we can make loving, cheerful sacrifices for family and friends without letting them take unfair advantage of us.

Announcements

Donations in memory of Helen Bullock has been received and are gratefully acknowledged:

Mrs. Frances Harkins, Suzanne Anderko, Luboe Sajbidor and Ivy Budzik

This weekend, we observe the Solemn Remebrance of All Souls. After celebrating on November 1st the glory of the New Jerusalem and the saints' victory over death, we turn our prayers to those we know who have died and stand knocking at heaven's door. In a special way we remember the dead today at the table of the Lord on earth, and beseech God's Lamb to admit them to His festive banquet in heaven. There may they rest in peace. Public Prayers will be offered in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery Sunday at 1pm. All are invited to gather at the central Cross monument, weather permitting. Also, when attending Mass this weekend, you will find the Parish Register of the Dead given a place of honor in the sanctuary, with the Paschal Candle burning beside it. With faith in the Risen Christ, we remember them all.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Once again, our Parish Family will be participating in the Annual Operation Thanksgiving Food Drive, providing holiday dinners for the needy of our community under joint sponsorship of the Coatesville Churches. We will be responsible for donating boxes of stuffing mix for the food baskets. Your stuffing mix donations will be gratefully received at our Church next weekend, November 8th & 9th. God love you for your anticipated generous response! Also, look for us to be engaged in a similar community campaign of charity at Christmas.

Altar Servers

Any boy or girl wishing to become an altar server please sign up in the back of the church, or contact Mr. Vince Krupansky. You must be in fourth grade or older. Lessons will begin in November. Thank you.

Eucharistic Devotions

Neighboring St. Stanislaus Kostka Church will observe the Solemn Eucharistic Forty Hours Devotion on November 2nd, 3rd and 4th with an exposition of the Blessed Sacrament all throughout the day. Each evening service will be conducted at 7pm, with Father Gasper Genuardi as the guest homilist. All are welcome to attend.

Concert of Sacred Music

Our Lady of Consolation Church will be sponsoring a Concert of Sacred Music on Sunday, November 2nd at 3pm at the church located on 2nd and Chestnut streets in Parkesburg. The Adult Choir, Duets, Soloists and Instrumentalists will be performing music by Haydn, Handel, Bach and more. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.

Young Adult Ministry

Young Adults (20s & 30s, single and married are invited to a Harvest Dinner Dance, sponsored by the Archdiocesan Young Adult Ministry Program, on Friday, November 14th at 8pm to midnight, in the Holiday Inn, City Line Avenue. It will be an elegant, sit-down dinner for all who enjoy fine dining, good conversation and great company.

Home Mission Collection

The Collection for the Church's Home Missions in the United States will be taken at all Masses next weekend. Last year, over 7 million dollars were contributed to the national total. 98.6 cents of every dollar was distributed to the missions. The support went to some of the neediest people of our country; for the inner cities of the rural South, from the deserts of the Southwest to Alaska's cold wilderness -- 128 Diocese received assistance from the collection. Through your gifts, you will join your sacrifices to Christ's by helping those who sacrifice daily to lead others to Him. Please be generous.
