Announcements

Three Cheers for Fran Shesko and the members of her Committee for organizing and serving a delicious, full-course Parish dinner which was part of our "Christmas at St. Joe's Celebration" on December 13th. Congratulations, also to Susan Sandoski and the Children's Choir for their delightful program of holiday music at the end of the evening. The entire affair was a wonderful way by which to inaugurate our Christmas Season.

We are deeply grateful to Ann Cigas and the Women's Club for their generous presentation of $5,000.00 to St. Joseph Parish as a donation from the proceeds of their highly successful Christmas Bazaar. The ladies wish all parishioners a blessed, joyous Christmas and New Year.

A Discernment Retreat is being sponsored by the Vocation Office for Diocesan Priesthood, located at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, over the weekend of January 9,10,11, 1998. College age and young adult men, as well as high school seniors, are invited to attend. To register and for added information, call the Vocation Office at (610)667-5778.

Catholic Host Families are needed to help spread a little sunshine around the world, as they open their homes to a rainbow of international teenage exchange students. These Catholic students, 15 to 18 years old, are hoping to secure Catholic host families for a second semester or entire school year. One of these students is waiting for your family to extend a warm welcome, allowing him/her to share your home, joys and love. As a host family, you can become enriched with a wealth of knowledge about another language and culture, while making a lifetime friendship. Explore the hosting experience by calling Youth Exchange Service at 1-800-848-2121, ext. 12. Thank you for your consideration!

In the Spirit of Christmas, the children of Coatesville Area Catholic Elementary School have presented Father John with food certificates to be distributed to needy families within our Parish Community. We are truly appreciative for such thoughfulness and kindness on their part. May their Christmas be the happier for it!

A Family Perspective

In today's first reading, the Lord asks David, "Should you build me a house to dwell in?" All of our homes are houses the Lord dwells in. They are made holy by the presence of God that we see in our love for each other and in the most routine of activities done for "the least of his little ones.
