Second Collection

The second collection today is for the Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe. Over the past seven years, Catholics in the United States have raised nearly $37 million to support 1,400 projects in twenty-one countries. While much has been done, the needs remain great, particularly in countries like Bosnia, where enemies of the Church sought to eliminate it and have expelled two-thirds of the country's Catholics. Please be generous in your support. Their faith is at stake.

Mass Opportunities During Lent

Daily Morning Mass, Monday through Saturday, is offered at 9 o'clock, alternating weekly between St. Joseph Church and St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. On two nights of the week, evening Mass is celebrated on Tuesdays at 7:00pm, in St. Joseph Church; on Wednesdays at 5:30pm, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.

Lenten Way of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross Devotion, a venerable Lenten exercise, will be conducted in both churches on Thursdays at 1:15pm with the school children participating. On Saturdays, immediately following the 9:00am Mass, the Stations of the Cross Devotion will be conducted in the Church designed as the Worship Site for that week.

Communal Penance Service in Lent

As Easter nears, on Monday, March 30th, a Lentel Communal Penance Service will be conducted at 7:00pm in St. Joseph Church. At the conclusion of the Service, based on the Way of the Cross, several priests will be available for the individual hearing of confessions. We welcome your participation.

Passion-Palm Sunday

In commemoration of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem prior to His death, palms will be blessed and distributed at the weekend Masses of Passion Palm Sunday, April 4th & 5th. The Saturday evening Mass will be celebrated at the usual 6:30pm time. The Sunday morning Mass, however, will be celebrated at 10:45am, 15 minutes later than usual time, at allow Father John the additional quarter-hour or so to complete the Solemn Liturgy at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Thank you for your understanding; kindly note the slight change in schedule for that day only.

Lenten Almsgiving

Operation Rice Bowl invites your participation during Lent to assist in feeding the world's starving and malnourished people. Your kind donation may be placed in the specially marked receptacles in the rear of the Church. Thank you!

Sin No More

"Woman, has no one condemned you? Go away, and sin no more!" The church's sinfulness is brought before her Lord. She stands elected and chosen as God's own wife, but ashamed of her failings. Her Lord tells us to put our sinful past aside and to seek the "prize which we are called to receive in Christ Jesus". Perfection comes only with the Lord's sure help. Those willing to reveal all to the Lord will know mercy.

Emmaus Nights

A Discernment Series sponsored by the Vocation Office for Diocesan Priesthood. Bi-monthly sessions, on the second and fourth Wednesday, 7:30-9:30pm, continuing on Wednesday, April 8th at Saint Charles Seminary for those men who are seriously discerning the call to priesthood. The evening will include communal prayer, topics of interest, group discussion and refreshments. No registration is needed. Call the Vocation Office for details at (610)667-5778.
