Local Assumption Triduum

Prior to the Solemnity of Mary's Assumption, a Triduum of Marian Prayer will be conducted on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 12th, 13th, 14th, nightly at 7 o'clock in nearby St. Stanislaus Koskta Church. Father Cletus Watson, T.O.R., Pastor, Church of the Crucifixion, Jacksonville, Florida will be the special guest homilist each evening. A native Philadelphian, ordained thirty-two years, Father Cletus is a popular speaker, preaching with much spirit and enthusiasm. At the concluding Friday evening Service, the traditional blessed summer flowers will be distributed. All are cordially invited to attend the Assumption Triduum, directing your prayers to the Holy Virgin given us as our Mother and Queen.

Solemnity of Mary's Assumption

On Saturday, August 15th, the Church solemnly commemorates the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the most venerable of the Marian festivals. Normally a holy day of obligation, this year it is not since August 15th falls on a Saturday. For those who wish to attend Mass that day, however, not out of obligation, but out of devotion, a Mass with song will be offered at 9:00am, on August 15th, in St. Joseph Church. We trust that many, young and old, will be in attendance to observe lovingly Mary's Easter.

A Little Fun in the Making

The opening weeks of September bring the Annual Polish American Festival at Our Lady's Shrine in Doylestown. If sufficient interest is shown, we would be glad to arrange for bus transportation and discounted group admission tickets for the event, where a good time is always had by all. To indicate your interest, please call Michele Buffington at 383-1917.

Rosary News

We believe with all the fervor of our faith in the Blessed Virgin Mary's truimphal assumption both in body and soul into heaven where she was acclaimed Queen by all the choirs of angels and all the legion of saints and we unite with them to praise and bless the Lord who has exalted her above all other creatures and to offer her the tribute of our devotion and love.

Therefore we will honor Mary on the feast of the Assumption by reciting the Rosary before the Saturday evening Mass on August 15th at 6:15pm and on Sunday morning Mass at 10:15 on August 16th.

Won't you join us in this tribute to our heavenly Mother.
