Sacrament of ReconciliationThis weekend, confessions will be heard on Saturday, August 22nd, from 5:45 to 6:15pm, prior to the Evening Mass. Next weekend, confessions will be heard on Sunday, August 30th, from 9:45 to 10:15am, prior to the Morning Mass. Also, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available anytime upon request. Youth ChoirWe will be having sign-ups for the Youth Choir after the masses this weekend and next. All children of the parish between the ages of five and thirteen are invited and encouraged to participate. Practice is held on Monday evenings at 6:45pm till 7:30pm. We will begin practice on Monday, September 21st. We try to plan different programs for the children each year with our main focus on Christmas. However, with 1999 being the year of the Church's Anniversary, we will be working on some special programs for the celebration. It should be an exciting year! If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me after mass or phone. Reopening of SchoolsBishop Shanahan High School reopens for teachers with Organizational/In-Service Days on Tuesday and Wednesday September 8th & 9th. Freshmen students report Thursday, September 10th, Sophomores report Friday, September 11th, Juniors report Monday, September 14th, and Seniors report Tuesday, September 15th. All students report Wednesday, September 16th. (All are full days). Coatesville Area Catholic Elementary School will reopen on Monday, August 31st, 1998. Half day sessions will be held on August 31st, with dismissal at 11:00am. No lunch will be required. Uniform dress code is effective as of Monday, August 31st. Busses will be available. September 1st-2nd-3rd will be full day sessions with dismissal at 2:15pm for all grades, 1 thru 8. Friday, September 4th and Monday, September 7th there will be NO SCHOOL. Classes will resume on September 8th for all grades. Kindergarten orientation and Open House at the Parkesburg Campus will be conducted at 10:00am on September 2nd. All Kindergarten students will report on September 8th for full day session, 8:10am to 1:45pm. Holy Land TripA pilgrimage to the Holy Land is planned for January 3rd-12th, 1999. Women's Club NewsReminder - Board MeetingThere will be a Board Meeting held on Monday, August 31st at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall. Please make a special effort to attend as we must start planning our activities for this very important year - our Parish's 75th Anniversary!
