All Souls Day, November 2nd

Monday of this week, November 2nd, is observed as the Remembrance of All Souls, a feast which gives beautiful expression of the enduring bonds existing between the living and the dead. On that day, Masses will be offered for the Holy Souls in Purgatory at 9:00am and 5:00pm in St. Stanislaus Koskta Church, and at 7:00pm in St. Joseph Church. In both Churches, the respective Registers of Deceased Parishioners will be given a prominent place in the sanctuary with a lighted Easter candle close by. The Easter candle serves as a representation of the Risen Christ and His promise of eternal life. The names of your departed loved ones, submitted by way of the collection basket, will be placed on the altar throughout all November. May they all rest in peace.

Forty Hours Devotion Locally

Nearby St. Stanislaus Kostka Church will observe the Eucharistic Forty Hours Devotion on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: November 1st, 2nd, 3rd. The Blessed Sacrament will be solemnly exposed on the altar each morning after the 9 o'clock Mass, with the Church open for visitation during the day. Exposition concludes on Sunday at a 5:00pm Holy Hour for Vocations, on Monday prior to the 5:00pm All Souls Day Mass and on Tuesday at 7:00pm with the closing procession and Mass. All are welcome to participate during these reflective, grace filled days.

Operation Thanksgiving

Now in its ninth year, Operation Thanksgiving, a joint effort by area churches, has been of benefit to hundreds upon hundreds of needy families over the years. A Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings is provided for all eligible applicants. Our parishioners are being asked to donate a single food item: Stuffing Mix. Your boxes and bags of stuffing mix should be dropped off in the Church vestibule next weekend, November 7th/8th. Please help to guarantee the success of this holiday food drive once more. God love you for your caring response!

Halloween Party

Our Annual Parish Halloween Party will be held Sunday, November 1st. This party is for all the children of the parish. It will be held in the school hall from 1-3 pm. Please come and join in the fun. Parents are encouraged to stay with their children and make this a family event (Grandparents are welcome too!). There will be games, food, and costume judging. Each child should bring one bag of candy (individually wrapped candy bars, lollypops, etc.) for the candy scramble. Adults, please consider staying a few minutes after the party to help with clean up. See you there!

Penny Petition

Don’t forget our plea for your pennies and change to raise funds to purchase robes for our Children’s Choir. They’re growing!! Please drop your change in the Penny Petition Bucket as you leave or enter the church. The children will be responsible for counting and wrapping the change as their part of this endeavor. The containers will be set out for the next several weeks and hope for your support. Thank you.
