Prayer for Blessing the Home at Easter

Lord, we rejoice in the victory
of your Son over death:
by rising from the tomb to new life,
He gives us new hope and promise.
Bless all the members of this household
and surround them with your protection,
that they may find comfort and peace
in Jesus Christ, the Paschal Lamb,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen

Members of the household and the various rooms of the home may be sprinkled with holy water.

During the sprinkling, the following prayer is spoken:

Let this water call to mind
our baptism in Christ,
who by his death and
resurrection has redeemed us.

1999 Seminary Appeal

There are many people who have contributed to the Seminary Appeal in the past whom we have not heard from this year. We are hoping that this announcement will serve as a reminder that the 1999 Annual Appeal of St. Charles Seminary is in need of your continued support. Your gift helps our Seminarians. Please send your contribution to: St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Office for Institutional Advancement, 100 East Wynnewood Road, Wynnewood, PA 19096.

75th Anniversary Celebration

The joy of the Easter Season is compounded for us by our Parish Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Founding on Sunday, April 25th, 1999. A Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving will be offered at 1:00pm in our Parish Church, with The Most Reverend Joseph F. Martino, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, as the Principal Concelebrant. Father John Ferrence, O.S.A., well known to the Parishes of Coatesville, will be our guest homilist for the occasion. Added to the beautiful music of our Parish Adult Choir and organist will be the talented instrumentation of the five piece Basilica Brass. It should truly be an uplifting Liturgy that rivals the very worship of the angels in heaven.

The festivities of the day move along to a Gala Dinner Dance in the Red Clay Room, Kennett Square, beginning with a social hour at 4:00pm and continuing with a full course dinner at 5:00pm, followed by dancing at dusk. A grand time is guaranteed to all participants.

A few weeks back, handsome invitations arrived at all households of our Parish, announcing the 75th Anniversary Celebration. Enclosed with it was a reply card for Dinner Dance reservations and selection of entree. We trust that all our parishioners have intentions of attending the afternoon Solemn Mass, and that most can be expected for the post-Mass Dinner. As indicated by the R.S.V.P., we request the favor of your dinner reply by next Sunday, April 11th. A self-addressed envelope has been enclosed for mailing purposes or your dinner reply may be placed in the Church collection basket next weekend.

Fortunately, we have no immediate restrictions as to seats in the Church or places in the Red Clay Room. Non-parishioners and any friends of St. Joseph Church are most welcome to join in our Anniversary Celebration; we have room at our table. For assistance or information, kindly call the Rectory Office at 384-0360.

A 75th Anniversary is a very special moment in time and eternity. It is a remembering, rejoicing, renewing moment for the Parish Family of St. Joseph. It is a moment for us all to be the Church with and for one another. Come, share in the grace and gladness, faith and fellowship of this very special moment!

A Family Perspective

We "know what has been reported all over Judea about Jesus". What has been reported in our family and community about his presence and action in our lives? We are, after all, "chosen...to bear witness that he is the one."
