The Saturday Evening Mass will remain at 6:30pm, the usual time. On Sunday, however, Mass will not be offered at the usual 10:30am time. Our only Sunday Mass will be the Solemn Pontifical Mass of Thanksgiving at 1:00pm, with Bishop Joseph F. Martino as Principal Concelebrant. We call this change to your kind attention. Urgent Appeal for Next Weekend The sad, cruel situation in Kosovo, reported in the news media, moves all people of good will to compassion for their brothers and sisters who are suffering this terrible crisis. This is a moment requiring fervent prayer and financial sacrifice. For this reason, our Cardinal-Archbishop requests us to conduct a special appeal for the relief of the Kosovo refugees, an appeal to be made as soon as possible due to the great need for food and medical supplies. The Second Collection next weekend, April 24th-25th, will benefit this very urgent cause. Your generous contributions would be most appreciated. Also, please keep in mind and prayer the sufferings of all those forced from their homes, as well as those who find themselves in harm's way during this crisis, including members of our armed services. A Family Perspective In today's Gospel, Jesus alerts us to the need to recognize the Shepherd's voice. Parents who keep their own ears tuned to Jesus' voice will teach their children to recognize it as well. That way, the whole family can "have life and have it to the full." |
