75th Anniversary Celebration

All things came together for perfection and joy last Sunday, April 25th, the day of our Parish 75th Anniversary Celebration. Even St. Joseph, our Patron, conspired with the Powers of Heaven to win for us an absolutely beautiful Spring day. And heaven's presence continued to be felt with the magnificence of the Solemn Pontifical Mass of Thanksgiving and the harmonious fellowship of the Gala Dinner-Dance in the Red Clay Room, Kennett Square. It was truly a remembering, rejoicing, renewing day for our Parish Family. It remains a glorious occasion to be cherished and savored by all participants. Our sincerest thank you is extended to those many willing hands and kind hearts which made it happen.

Your Prayers are Requested

In the kindness of your prayers, please remember the Sick: Julia Esposito, Vera Lahm, John Yankech, Mary Riley, Elizabeth Taran, Lillian Turansky, Jean Moister, Lyndsey Conner, Cecilia Shesko, Christopher Rosado, Carolyn Pechin, Betty Meister, and the Dead: Father Anthony Spicijaric.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

This weekend, Confessions will be heard on Sunday, May 2nd, from 9:45 to 10:15am, prior to the Morning Mass.

Next weekend, Confessions will be heard on Saturday, May 8th, from 5:45 to 6:15pm, prior to the Evening Mass.

Also, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available anytime upon request.

1999 Catholic Charities Appeal

This weekend marks Catholic Charities Appeal Sunday in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, opening a three week campaign of sharing and concern. It is hoped that $10.7 million may be raised to support the programs, institutions and agencies which benefit the young and old in need locally. Your gift is important. Please try to match the generosity which God has shown to you.

A Family Perspective

In today's Gospel, Thomas and Philip sound a little bit like protesting children and teens, making things difficult for their parents and those acting as parents. If parents try to represent the Father as Jesus did, their children will have faith in them, based on the "works they do".

Summer Festival

In your spring and summer plans, please remember the Annual Summer Festival sponsored by the Sisters of SS Cyril and Methodius which will be held on the grounds of the Mother House in Danville, PA on Saturday, June 19, 1999. They would be most happy to have you join them on that day.

First Holy Communion Sunday

Our heartfelt congratulations are extended to our seven young parishioners, for whom this Sunday brings the joy of their First Holy Communion. Happily we hail our First Communicants:

Brian Hart
Christine Hrinak
Joseph Keehn
Daniel McGraw
Jessica McGraw
Stephanie Trumpelman
Zachary Turner

It is a glad and proud moment, too, for their parents, family members and friends. May God bless one and all, keeping alive the grace and beauty of this singular moment with the risen Lord of the Holy Eucharist, Again, much Congratulations!
