Men's Summer Retreat Men, young men and high school boys, take time to renew, reflect and find peace at the beautiful St. Joseph's-in-the-Hills Retreat House, Malvern, over the weekend of August 13th-15th, in the company of others from Chester County. For more information or to register, please call Ed Lawrence or Ed Hudock. An Anniversary Special Looking ahead by several months, we call your attention to the week of Sunday, September 26th through Friday, October 1st when a full Passionist Parish Mission will be conducted in St. Joseph Church. This is a very special Program of Prayer, Reflection and Renewal in keeping with our celebration of the Parish 75th Anniversary and in anticipation of Christianity's Third Millennium. Father Claudio Picinni, C.P., a preacher in great demand, is perhaps remembered by some as the visiting priest who worked spiritual wonders for approving parishioners of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish several years ago. It is the same Father Claudio who will be our Parish Mission Director in the early autumn. The investment of your time and attention during these days should bring wonderful spiritual dividends. Please circle the Week of September 26th thru October 1st on your calendar. Sisters, Go with God! The conclusion of our current school year finds us saying our good-byes to two of the religious faculty members of Coatesville Area Catholic Elementary School. After six years of teaching in CACES Sixth Grade, Sister Helen Thomas, I.H.M. has been reassigned to St. Katharine of Siena School, Wayne, where Sister has been "promoted" to the Seventh Grade classroom. Following one year with our First Grade pupils, Sister Loretta William, I.H.M., has been reassigned to the faculty of a parochial elementary school in Virginia, bringing Sister into a closer proximity with her family who reside in that State. We are certainly grateful to Sister Helen and Sister Loretta for their selfless dedication to the youngsters of CACES and for the Christ-like example their presence brought. Gold stars and much applause to them both! And may Christ Jesus continue to make the most of them in their apostolate to Catholic education and their service to His Church. God love you, Sister Helen and Sister Loretta; abundant happiness in your new assignments! "Meals for Joe" Volunteers We were fortunate enough to get approximately 20 volunteers to prepare meals for Joe Taran, Jr. in our "Meals for Joe" Program. A short organizational meeting will be held on Monday, June 14th at 7:00pm in the School Hall. We will be developing a schedule with names and phone numbers for those who will participate. If you haven't yet contacted Andy Levenite, and would like to participate, we will gratefully welcome you. Look forward to seeing you on Monday. Thank you in advance for all your help. A Family Perspective In the second reading today, St. Paul speaks of how we were redeemed "while we were still sinners." God reached out and forgave us through his Son. If there is someone in your family or community that you need to reach out to in forgiveness, do it now. Don't wait until they come to you. God didn't. Followers For his Father's work Jesus chose twelve from a small group of relatives and friends, which included his betrayer. Sending them out on a mission, he gave them solemn advice to proclaim only the good news of heaven's reign: "Repent! For Jesus is raised from death by the Father's glory. We have new life in him." Be single-minded, not sidetracked. For us today, everything else finds proper place after Jesus - home, family, possessions. Choose him! Annual Parish Picnic This Sunday, June 13th 1:00pm til ?
