New Altar Servers Boys and girls of the Parish, who have completed the Third grade and have received their First Communion, are eligible to assist at the sacred ceremonies of the altar as altar servers. They should likewise have a sense of responsibility and dedication, be able to act with care and reverence in the sanctuary and possess an enthusiasm for the duties of a server. Certainly, too, the support and encouragement from interested parents are most important. Mr. Vince Krupansky is currently forming a group for the next series of instructions scheduled to begin on Sunday, July 25th, and to continue for the next several Sundays after the 10:30am Mass. Each session is one hour in length. To register your son or daughter, please fill in the sheet for altar server candidates found on the table in the church vestibule. Thank you! Vacation Bible School Mark your calendar for Vacation Bible School! It will be held on 5 consecutive evenings from July 26th through July 30th. Last years program was a great success and we hope that you will be able to join us this year. Registration will be held on Sunday July 18th after the 10:30 Mass. We needs adults and teens to lead groups, coordinate games and activities, help with arts and crafts, and provide snacks. If you can help, please call Frank Lasak or Kathy Catanese. Thank you. 75th Anniversary... The Celebration Continues As part of the Anniversary Celebration of St. Josephs Church, we have scheduled a special event especially for the children of the parish and their families. A pavilion has been reserved at Hibernia Park on Sunday, September 19th for a Childrens Anniversary Celebration. We are looking for someone or a team of people to volunteer to chair the event. Please contact Lisa Hillman if you are interested. The Way of Jesus Jesus offers the way to the Father as child's work or a light burden, not heavy going. Lifting us up like children to enlightenment about the Father and him, Jesus offers us independence, equality and freedom in his family. He trusts us to trust him. When we do, we come to the great wedding banquet. He enters childlike, parading on a donkey, blaring out the fireworks of God's presence among us. "Hosanna! Blest is he who comes in the Lord God's name. Hosanna!" Come, Lord Jesus! A Family Perspective In the Gospel today, Jesus speaks of the wisdom of children. Their innocence, wonder and honesty often provide us with unexpected insights. What do your children or grandchildren have to teach you, so that you may become more like them?
